Grandpa's and their chairs!
Well, here I am with it being January 8 and extremely far behind on my blogging! The month of December set out with the start of many Christmas gatherings with family. With Christmas around the corner we were busy shopping for gifts, making Christmas candy, decorating gingerbread houses, Christmas programs, and Christmas parties. As the kids get older it seems impossible to fit everything in that we would like to. We did our best and managed to still get everything squeezed it again another year. We did our Christmas with Noah and Isabella on December 22. The big gifts this year were Nintendo DS for Noah and a Leapster for Isabella. Isabella received the 3 kings for her outside Nativity from Santa and Noah scored a Kevin Garnett jersey! I firmly believe this was his best gift since I have to pry it off it at night in order to wash it occassionally. It's a good thing he has to wear a uniform to school!
December 23 we set off in a blizzard to head for Leroy for the holidays. We spent to days at the Roe farm and then headed into town to spend two days with Grandma and Grandpa Granahan. Included in this post are pictures of our holiday events which include sledding, bowling, playing with our new gifts, and enjoying family . It rained most of the time we were in Leroy but we got enough snow to sled, snowmobile, and make a snowman. We went bowling on Saturday with the Granahan family which is always a lot of fun, especially for Noah and Isabella. Not really my thing but I believe I broke 100 for one of the games!
Each year as Noah and Isabella get older the grandparents make the holidays a special time for them and create new memories that last a lifetime. As soon as the Advent calendar comes out Noah and Isabella start the count down until we get to go "home" for Christmas. It was a little sad this year that none of my siblings could make it due to the weather but we still had a great time.
With it being January 8 today we are back in the full swing of work and school. We are digging out from many inches of snow over the past three weeks and are patiently awaiting spring. Hopefully with warmer weather in the future we can break out the sled and ice skates and spend a little time enjoying the snow instead of wishing for green grass!
Best wishes for 2010!
