Let's Go Giants!
Noah has started flag football with the YMCA. He commented on all the running and not much playing after the first week, but has come to enjoy it over the last week or so. This is the first year that he has played football. He has certainly become quite a little sports fan over the last year or so. I'm glad that he has found an interest in something that he gets some exercise and has fun, too.
On a school note, we have finished our second week of school and so far Noah and Isabella are really enjoying it. Isabella still struggles with getting out of bed at 6:30 but once she is up she does fine. Noah has started bringing homework home but nothing like last year! (he had an hour of homework each night last year) Isabella is enjoying just being a "school-age" kid now. Loyola has had an outbreak of H1N1 over the past week so we are keeping our fingers crossed, taking our vitamins, practicing good hand washing, and trying to eat lots of healthy foods to keep from getting it.
Here are some pictures of Labor Day Weekend, which we spent some of it out at the lake with Maddie and Livi. One day the kids decided to "frost" each other along with the cupcakes! Next year, pudding!

Uniforms???
Okay, so I have to admit that when the thought of Isabella wearing a uniform everyday came to mind I was rather sad. It was not so bad when Noah started school cause he really isn't into fashion and half the clothes I bought him he never liked and would end up in a John Deere t-shirt anyway! With Isabella it's different since she loves to shop! However, this year I was forced to buy her very conservative navy blue, plaid, and white clothes for school since they wear uniforms. After three days of dressing her, I have to admit that they are not so bad. They are actually kind of cute in their own way. (I forgot to mention they do not designate which shoes to wear so we managed to mix in a little hot pink and sparkle pink shoes!) We will just have to save the jcrew things hanging in her closet for the weekend!

Here are some pictures from Day 2 in uniforms, a plaid skirt which we jokingly call her "nun skirt" since it's almost to her ankles! Noah, of course is in the usual white polo and navy pants.

My Little Crusaders!
Noah and Isabella started school this week at Loyola Catholic School. Noah started Monday and Isabella started Tuesday. Since Noah started 2nd grade, it was no big deal for him but Isabella was a little nervous but adjusted just fine. I will say the first day was a little easier to get her out the door than the second! For the last 5 years of her life she has had the schedule of staying up till 10 and sleeping till 10 the next day! We started going to bed earlier and getting up earlier over the last 2 weeks but 5 year habits are hard to break! Nonetheless, the transition was easier than expected. I, on the other hand, am awfully sad to have both my kiddies in school full-time. Maybe I'll get some scrapbooking done, but probably not!
