We're Going to the State Fair, See you There!

Friday, August 28 we took the day off and headed to the State Fair. The traffic was terrible but we ventured into the parking lot and entered the gates! The kids enjoyed it but we agreed we wouldn't go back for a couple of years. The kids were so excited to see cows and pigs! They petted a baby cow and baby pig. Isabella mentioned that she thought the horses pooped too much so she didn't want to go into the horse barn. Noah had his mini donuts and Sweet Martha's Cookies while Isabella enjoyed her usual "pink" cotton candy. We spend a few hours at the fair and then headed to LeRoy to spend the weekend with Grandpa Rick and Grandma Coni. It was a 4 hour day in the car.

We arrived in Leroy around 6:30 and the kids managed to talk Grandpa and Grandma into going to the bowling alley for dinner and bowling. Once again we got into the car and went uptown for some Leroy fun!

Happy 8th Birthday, Noah!

August 19 was Noah's 8th birthday. At our house we celebrate a "birthday week" since we wait all year for our birthday we figure it's worth at least a week! Noah started his week of fun by spending a night with Auntie Amanda, Uncle Mike, Jack and Sophie. From Rochester he headed to the farm where he had a hard time coming home! I know he is destined to farm so I have just accepted it! Along with Chris, Uncle Mike, and Bop Pa they headed to Hazeltine to watch Tiger Woods. Noah has always had a way of attracting attention to himself so the following story is not surprising to those of you who know Noah. Tiger had just finished the 15th hole when the Roe troop tried to get a good glance at him. They found an opening by the ropes and made their way there. They were standing there when Tiger walked a few feet from them. Noah yells, "Let's go Tiger" and Tiger turns to look at Noah and says, "Thanks Buddy"! Chris and Mike were aw struck to have Tiger even look and them and Noah just smiled like it was no big deal. Noah informed me, "Mommy, that is probably a once in a lifetime thing." I agreed.

We celebrated his birthday at the lake again this year since it always falls near our family weekend. We had a Tiger Woods cake, of course!

August 18 he had a party for all his school friends. We went mini golfing and then to Happy Joe's for pizza and arcade fun.

Soldier's Field Memorial...

Yesterday we loaded the car at a very early 8:15 a.m. to head to Rochester. Grandpa Rick and Grandma Coni were helping out with a parade for all the military reserve service men and women so we went to watch. Uncle Troy was in the parade, too. Since we arrived quite a bit early, the kids got to play in the park for an hour before the parade started.

A day without Noah...

Lately it seems Noah has quite a social calendar with sleepovers, trips to the farm & lake, birthday parties, etc. so last Saturday I took Isabella to Sibley Park to stroll through the flower gardens and feed the animals. Isabella is such a flower girl that we spent over an hour just looking at the flowers and taking her picture! We went to feed the animals, but she is still little hesitant when it comes to letting animals eat out of her hands!
