End of the season...

Last night was the end of the Astro's season! What a season! Noah improved so much since the beginning of the summer! We are very proud of him and I'm pretty sure he will be playing baseball every summer. What's next? Flag football starts in a few weeks!

Farmers Market & raspberry picking...

Last Saturday we pretended to be farmers for the day! Right away in the morning the kids and I went down to the farmer's market. It's amazing how they are so inclined to buy every kind of vegetable ever grown but getting them to eat it is a different story! We wandered through all the growers for awhile and then headed home for a short time before climbing in the car again. Isabella really wanted to go pick strawberries, but the growing season for them around here is over so we opted to go to Emma Krumbees in Belle Plaine to pick raspberries. We had never done this before so the kids enjoyed it, except for the thorns that almost completely cover the berries! Nonetheless, we had a great time and we had fresh fruits and veggies all last week!

Wacky Hair

Sunday was St. John's (our church) 125th Anniversary so mass was held outside and then there was a carnival and picnic lunch afterwards. Noah wanted his hair done "wacky" while Isabella settled for face painting. The kids enjoyed cotton candy, ice cream sundaes, and jumped in inflatable jumpers and went down slides. When we were leaving, they asked why church couldn't be like this every Sunday!

Fun Days...

Last weekend was North Mankato Fun Days so we grabbed our lawn chairs and ventured to the parade. This was the first year since we have lived in Mankato that it hasn't been extremely hot so it was actually nice to sit there and watch the 500+ entries! Afterwards we went down to the carnival for cotton candy, mini donuts, rides, and Bingo. This was the first time the kids rode on a rollercoaster. I think Isabella is going to be a thrill seeker cause she enjoyed every minute of it while Noah was more than happy to get off!

Como Zoo...

Last week Chris and I took a day off and headed to the zoo with the kids. Chris and I are not big "zoo people" but Noah and Isabella always pick it when we leave the planning up to them. We went to the Como Zoo this year since we had not been there since Noah was a year-old. Don't get me wrong, it is great to see Noah and Isabella enjoying themselves, but the smell is enough to do me in! Nonetheless, it was a great day and we don't have to go again until next year!

Happy 4th of July!

Noah's first stitches...

We headed to the lake at 11:00 Friday, July 3 and by 1:00 we were on our way to Waseca ER to stitch up Noah's chin! Noah slipped climbing out of the pool and hit his chin on the ladder. I think of all the grandkids, Noah enjoys the pool the most! He almost instantly jumps in upon arrival at the lake. He was a trooper through all 9 stitches! Even though he couldn't swim the rest of the weekend, he managed to sneak in a couple of jetski rides against mine and Chris' wishes! Bop Pa always comes to the resue with the grandkids!

The rest of the 4th was filled with fun with cousins and relatives! Some of my fondest memories are those with my cousins and I just know my children will have the same memories.

Friday night golfing...

In the past, our family has spent many weekends on the golf course, but the summer seems to be getting away from us this year! A couple weeks ago we spent the night at the golf course. I have to admit that I am not very good and got bored with the whole idea pretty fast! Noah is really coming along and becoming a pretty good little golfer. Isabella used her new pink clubs for the first time and really enjoyed it. I realized that I am going to have to practice a little more than I currently do or my 5 and 7 year-old children are going to outplay me! Anyway, we enjoyed the time together.
